Mile High Classic Track Meet - POSTPONED

Our inaugural track meet is April 5, 2020 and we want you to toe the line with us at NYC's East River Track. For just $10, you can run the event(s) of your choice and race for prizes and bragging rights.

In the flurry of 'winter training' for half marathons and marathons alike, we want to remind runners that those aren't the only defining distances. The art of short- and mid-distance running is as old as the sport itself and with the help of USATF, we'll be bringing you the following open events this April:

5000m, 400m, 800m, MILE, DMR, and 4x400m

FAQs

Q: Where is it?

A: NYC's East River Track! Located right on the water at 6th St. and FDR Drive. There is no on-site parking and the nearest trains are the L, F, and G trains (with a modest mile walk). Plan accordingly if you're taking public transit.

Q: Do I have to run with Mile High Run Club to race at the meet?

A: Nope! We always appreciate when runners take their training on with us but we welcome any individual, any team, any club, any crew, or anyone unaffiliated just looking to run hard.

Q: I’m not an advanced runner and I've never done track. Will I die?

A: Like any race in the NYC scene, all abilities are welcome. We've allotted plenty of time for all events. Each event will have a heat cap and will be adjusted accordingly on race day. Will you die? No - you'll live your best life.

Q: I just want to do the relay -how do I register my team?

A: Each member of your relay team needs to register online before April 5. Once registered, runners will be asked to enter their events upon check-in on the day of the race.

Q: I have zero desire to run. Can I watch?

A: YES! Half the fun of racing track is the crowds cheering the runners on! Bring your friends, your family, your enemies, your exes - anyone at all! Note that occasionally friends from the stands wind up getting roped in to running (so just make sure any possible runners register online).

Q: I'd love to sponsor an event with my awesome product. Who do I contact?

A: We welcome local and large brands to sponsor each event. With sponsorship, we'll be relaying our NYC Parks department guidelines for our event. We'll also be offering a spot for specific brand-typer (i.e. clothing brand, beer, coffee, etc.) so there's no conflict of interest. For sponsorship opportunities, email vinnie@milehighrunclub.com.

Q: Can I volunteer?

A: Yes! As always, an event is only as good as the people building it. We're looking for passionate people to aid in runner-wrangling, cleanup, timing, check-in, and so much more. Email vinnie@milehighrunclub.com for more info.
